Job Description

The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for accelerating the firm’s data and analytics journey. This includes ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the company's data, as well as leveraging this data to generate insights and drive decision-making. The CDAO is also responsible for developing and implementing solutions that support the firm’s commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly.

The Firmwide Chief Data Office is responsible for maximizing the value and impact of data globally, in a highly governed way. It consists of several teams focused on accelerating JPMorgan Chase’s data, analytics and AI journey, including; data strategy, data impact optimization, privacy, data governance, transformation and talent.

We are looking for an data and analytic executive to lead and grow our CDO presence in India. Our teams are responsible for firmwide data strategy, data governance, data risk management, analytics, reporting and performance monitoring.

This role is dynamic and interacts heavily with our firmwide teams, lines of business and corporate functions. This is a high-profile role position which is instrumental in assisting and advising senior management and executing on our strategies. A successful candidate will be able to build and develop strong teams, be a thought-leader, have excellent written and oral communications skills and can engage with senior leaders across the business. A strong data and analytics background is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a 30+person technical data and analytics team, which support multiple organizations across the Chief Data Office.
  • Support strategic business initiatives, from development through successful execution, under the guidance of senior leadership
  • Assist and communicate with CDO Leadership Team in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
  • Work with high degree of independence, be self-motivated and tenacious
  • Support the attainment of business outcomes, execution of work through close collaboration and alignment with department and support groups (Finance, Tech, Ops, Legal, Compliance, HR, Audit)
  • Set up Business Process: Identify, escalate and mitigate business risks that could impair our ability to execute on our strategy
  • Develop and bring valuable insights and analysis to the leadership team, enabling data-driven decision making.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong leadership, technical skills and interpersonal skills - must have the ability to build strong working relationships key stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment and comfortable to operate without specific mandate
  • Strong judgment and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information
  • A strong data, analytics or product background is important.
  • Expert at roadmap creation and execution, aligning and leading business operations to strategic organizational goals
  • Experience building and growing data and analytics teams and developing talent

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years of financial services industry experience
  • Experience and technical knowledge of data management and governance, analytics, metrics, reporting and performance monitoring
  • Experience in strategic or transformational change preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tight delivery timelines, and ensure our organization is on track to execute and deliver strategic change that meets our goals.
  • Proven ability to execute via successful internal partnerships with other organizations – with the ability to influence people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment to build consensus
  • Excellent leadership skills – of programs, projects, teams and/or employees.
  • Structured thinker, effective communicator with excellent written communication skills. Ability to crisply articulate complex technical concepts to senior audiences with poise and confidence.
  • Ability to present to senior and global business heads through excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to challenge the status quo, think creatively, and problem-solve.
