We are looking for an experienced Senior Architect with strong Private Bank and Domain Architecture expertise to join this function, extend the team and drive thought leadership across a variety of major cross-cutting initiatives. This role will be based in Mumbai, India, reflecting the importance of having a close working relationship with business and technology partners in the region.
As a Lead Data Architect at JPMorgan Chase within Asset and Wealth management, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality data architecture solutions for various software applications on modern cloud-based technologies. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for carrying out critical data architecture solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of project goals.
Job responsibilities
- Establish domain architecture best practices for over 20 functional products in the India location.
- Deep knowledge and experience in defining functional taxonomies for complex domains.
- Have a rich experience in data modelling, with a domain driven approach.
- Have a big picture mindset and be able to work with large complex domains.
- Working closely with teams responsible for AI/ML, Analytics, and big rock deliveries to help reduce complexity and increase accuracy.
- Have strong stakeholder influencing and thought leadership abilities, as an individual contributor and specialist
- Be experienced in modern cloud-based architectures able to support expansion of various systems.
- Bring recent (or current) experience working for another global Asset/Investment or Wealth Management firm and particularly Wealth Planning & Advice, Client Onboarding, Portfolio Management, Trading & Order Management, Client Performance Reporting, Investing, Lending, Banking
- Bring strong industry practices and methods whilst remaining commercial and client value focused.
- Be comfortable facing off to senior stakeholders, leading design sessions, and managing disputes.
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related field
- Relevant experience in data architecture, data management, or database architecture, preferably in the banking or financial sector. Experience in domain-driven design would also be a key qualification.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Wealth Management technology experience working across Wealth Planning & Advice, Investing, Lending, Banking with cross-asset experience including Fixed Income, Equities, and Alternatives (preferred)
- Knowing how to ensure data accuracy, integrity, quality, and security in compliance with GDPR, CCPA and other data protection regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated prior experience influencing across functions and teams to deliver modern architecture.
- Extensive practical cloud native experience
- Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and architecture is a major plus.
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best data architecture solutions for the future state architecture.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Domain Modelling
- Develop comprehensive Global Private Bank domain models that capture the structure, behavior, and interactions within specific business domains.
- Define functional taxonomies that provide a clear view of how the business functions.
- Define domain boundaries, entities, attributes, and relationships to facilitate a clear understanding of domain concepts and their interdependencies.
- Ensure that domain models are aligned with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
Solution Design
- Support and facilitate designing a scalable, secure and efficient software architectures.
- Provide data domain consultations and architecture review services to other teams within the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them to technical solutions.
Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of database structure, data models, and DBMS. The architect needs to be proficient in data modeling tools like ERWin, Enterprise Architect and database technologies like SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB etc. Knowledge of ETL tools, BI tools, data warehouse design, and data mining.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure architecture alignment with business goals
Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, engineers, product managers and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the broader architecture community to bring in standardization and also leverage the best practices followed in the industry.
