Job Description

The Mid Cap Sponsors Coverage Executive Director will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with private equity firms and other financial sponsors focused on mid-sized companies. The role involves providing a range of financial products and services, including M&A advisory, leveraged finance, and capital markets solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the mid-cap market, excellent relationship management skills, and a proven track record in investment banking or corporate banking.

Job responsibilities


We are looking for an experienced banker to be based in Paris who will support the EMEA GCB Mid Cap Sponsors Coverage team.

You will

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with private equity firms and other financial sponsors and serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored financial solutions.
  • Identify and originate new business opportunities with mid-cap sponsors.
  • Support the execution of transactions, including M&A advisory, leveraged finance, and capital markets deals, and coordinate with internal teams, including credit, legal, and compliance
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the bank's presence and market share in the mid-cap sponsors segment.
  • Work with investment banking coverage and product bankers to pitch for new engagements and develop client relationships
  • Work with the broader Sponsors team and our partners across J.P. Morgan to identify new finance and risk management opportunities
  • Jointly with our products partners, you will drive and coordinate the tailored marketing of products, identifying and addressing our clients’ needs

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Relevant years of experience in sponsors coverage banking in France market
  • Strong understanding of financial products and services, including M&A, leveraged finance, and capital markets.
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships, win new business, close transactions and build networks, both internally and externally
  • Solid in-depth knowledge of corporate banking products including bank loans, bonds, rates, FX and structured products, cash management, etc.
  • Strong influencing skills, team player, proven track record of managing cross cultural environments and inter-department collaboration
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • A creative, innovative team player and leader
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities that are team-oriented, fostering and collegial.
  • Proven ability to delegate effectively and pay attention to detail while maintaining a high level of productivity will be important.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively in presentations, expressing complex financial strategies in an organized and articulate manner.
  • An ability to juggle deliverables for long-term transactions as well as a busy day-to-day schedule
