Job Description
The Legal Entity Controller Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for the organization’s legal entities. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate across teams, support financial reporting processes, and contribute to the integrity and efficiency of our global operations.
As a Controller within the Legal Entity Control team, you will maintain strong discipline and ensure financial statements are complete, accurate, and done timely. You will ensure regulatory requirements are met, and an adequate control environment is in place, and our entities stay well-capitalized. This role provides an opportunity to interact with multiple lines of business and internal stakeholders while learning legal entity controllership end-to-end.
Job responsibilities:
- Support implementation of J.P. Morgan Wealth Management Solutions op model structure
- Support migration of activity to the new RIA to ensure compliance with financial and regulatory reporting
- Support the preparation of Financial Statements/Board Packages for the new RIA.
- Support internal & external audit requests related to RIA business efforts
- Provide Legal Entity accounting & control on a monthly basis that includes month-end close process, parent/child accounting, equity pick up, review of inter-entity breaks and unnatural general ledger balance monitoring
- Complete Month-End analytical review of the legal entity to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial statements and preparation of various reports, as well as Legal Entity and Line of Business financial commentary and regulatory reporting requirements
- Investigate, analyze and resolve issues and respond to ad-hoc queries
- Complete Monthly SAPCO analysis review of the new RIA
- Monitor the G/L including variance analysis MoM/YoY and responding with commentary as needed
- Participate in Firmwide legal entity reporting projects including infrastructure and process improvement efforts (automation) and other Controller initiatives as needed and support the OCC Reg 9.10 daily collateral process as needed and the new collateral report recently implemented to provide efficiency by creating an opportunity to increase collateral same day decreasing the risk for Amber and Red events
- Own monthly reconciliations/processes including Ops Reserves, Outside Counsel fees and dual hatted process
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or or related business field
- Strong communication skills across all levels of management
- Written and verbal communication skills, including ability to create concise and effective requirements documents and communication materials for technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong judgment, professional maturity, personal integrity, strong work ethic, proactive and results-oriented, fact based, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; has the courage to ask the tough questions and challenge the status quo
- Result-oriented, with a track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative including setting and achieving challenging goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point (required)
- Proficient in SQL (Toad Oracle, Teradata) with strong focus on data retrieval from multiple databases
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Regulatory Reporting experience preferred
