Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Analyze payment network, industry rule, debit card and credit card issuing and acquiring, compliance, merchant, and consumer data, driving card issuing and acquiring cost strategy. Design, develop and deploy comprehensive dashboard solutions. Define metrics and performance indicators critical to monitoring card network processing expenses and merchant discount rate, making actionable recommendations to payment network office relationship managers. Build analytical decks for senior leadership, synthesizing key performance metrics and actionable insights on network expense trends. Conduct data analyses using high- volume multidimensional datasets to develop international network strategies. Design and implement artificial intelligence and machine learning models to automate operational processes, including the downloading, reconciliation, and analysis of network expense invoices across all product lines. Design forecasting models to estimate payment transaction volume and network expense; build incentive models to optimize revenue and evaluate volume incentive agreements. Build payment network invoice databases and define mapping tables. Establish data validation frameworks to detect and address discrepancies in network-related datasets. Conduct root cause analyses to identify systemic issues and develop enhanced processes that mitigate risks and ensure data integrity. Optimize and restructure existing data environments to improve performance and scalability. Replace inefficient processes with high-speed automated workflows. Automate outdated reporting systems, including those used for billing aggregation, issuing analysis, marketplace tracking, and fines and penalty reporting. Conduct proactive reconciliation of ICAs, BINs, and other card network identifiers, including identifying active usage and gaps. Partner with product teams to gather requirements, extract implicit needs, and conduct root cause analyses to address underlying challenges. Provide insights into business line performance and identify solutions to existing challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Finance, Financial Management, Data Science, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Business Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Financial Management, Data Science, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Business Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Performing data manipulation and analysis using SQL, Python, and Excel, including VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH and VBA; Conducting financial analysis, advanced modeling, and root cause analysis to identify financial discrepancies, growth opportunities, and insights on payment revenue and network expenses; Developing predictive analytics models to forecast merchant sales and expense impacts; Creating interactive dashboards for data visualization and analysis using Tableau; Applying analytical and operational processes for interchange, payment schemes, credit and debit cards, digital wallets, account updating, and tokenization; Developing and implementing incentive models and scenario analysis to optimize revenue; Enhancing existing data and operational processes, including billing operation, reconciliation, reporting workflows, and project management; Automating data collection, cleaning, and analysis processes using SQL and Python; Creating new datasets and tables using SQL and Python; Maintaining network product performance and settlement processes with global payment partners; Developing models to validate billing data; Identifying discrepancies and resolving data integrity issues; Performing expense reconciliations, including checking for accuracy and resolving record mismatch issues; and Reconciling SAP journal entries.
