Job Description

As a Product Manager within the Wealth Management Data Programs Team, you will serve as the lead for the build and adoption of the strategic source of record for Wealth Management Securities Reference Data—including Instrument, Pricing, Classification, and Issuer data. You will be responsible for stakeholder management, requirements documentation, process reengineering, data rationalization, and data mining across applications to identify patterns and mitigate risks. You will act as a key liaison between Business and Technology, driving strategy, support, and adoption for Securities Reference Data, with a primary focus on Classification.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables tracking.
- Establish and maintain transparent, ongoing communication with stakeholders by providing timely updates, proactively addressing concerns, and effectively managing expectations.
- Ensure product delivery and adoption are aligned with business priorities and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with technology and business teams to gather and document requirements for new builds and enhancements.
- Initiate and lead cross-functional working groups with technology and business partners to develop success criteria, track progress, and ensure accountability.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis and create data transformation documentation to facilitate migration from legacy to strategic platforms.
- Design and implement operating models to support robust controls throughout the end-to-end data lifecycle.
- Recommend and implement tools and processes to enhance transparency and reporting capabilities.
- Document and monitor project metrics, reporting, and scorecards to measure progress and outcomes.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 5+ years of experience in a major financial services organization, with a focus on data product management, business analysis, and data/system migration projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in any related field (or equivalent experience).
- Deep knowledge of data domains relevant to asset & wealth management, including listed and derivative securities, pricing, classification, and party data.
- Strong understanding of best practices for Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and proven ability to manage large-scale data programs.
- Thorough understanding of the financial services industry, including buy-side and sell-side operations, as well as related technology functions.
- Experience in large program management and deep domain knowledge of securities reference data, particularly market sector and industry classifications across all asset classes, as well as expertise in data usage within downstream systems.
High personal and professional integrity, with a strong work ethic and background in data management practices and data quality frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Awareness of industry regulatory requirements related to data with a strong background in financial securities (both vanilla and derivatives), familiarity with vendor data sources, robust project management skills, and technical
- Proficiency in productivity tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, also SQL, or Alteryx
Excellent business analysis skills, results-oriented mindset, and a proactive approach to delivery.
Ability to build and manage relationships across business functions (front office, middle office, operations, technology, risk, compliance, finance).
