As an Analyst within the Global Corporate Banking (GCB) Subsidiary Banking team, you will play a key role in supporting relationship management activities for Japan-based subsidiaries of global multinational clients. You will provide consistent, high-quality support to bankers and sales, fulfill local regulatory and firm-wide requirements, and act as a liaison to ensure seamless client service.
Job responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between the client and the firm to help establish, maintain and enhance the relationship
- Participate in client planning activities and client calls
- Handle client’s daily maintenance and / or transactional inquiries, coordinating with bankers and other internal stakeholders as appropriate
- Support client onboarding process by working with Wholesale KYC Operations (WKO) for accurate completion of Know Your Client (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) related inquiries
- Play a key role in facilitating internal processes for new transactions, including due diligence and documentation
- Assist in ensuring assigned client portfolio is kept current with all aspects of the firm’s KYC/AML requirements by conducting regular reviews of the client profile and transactions, and escalating to internal stakeholders as necessary
- Monitor credit exposure and partner with Credit Risk on credit related asks
- Prepare and manage documentation storage and retrieval for loans, overdrafts, and bank guarantee-related deals. Play a lead role in Loan, O/D, Bank Guarantee, and other types of Credit execution, including credit approval process as well as documentation
- Coordinate with Payment product and support regulatory reporting and client education
- Prepare and update various account, KYC and transaction related reviews by maintain and update master files, trackers, and documentation evidence, take end-to-end ownership including coordination of Division Head approval and sign-off, etc.
- Provide end-to-end support on account maintenance and change, including billing setup and system requests
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Strong Banking/Financial Services background
- Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and familiarity with compliance and KYC processes
- Proven ability to build and develop relationships. Strong internal network will be critical to success
- Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in both Japanese and English languages
- Superb attention to detail and time management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Outstanding ethics, integrity and judgment
- Strong Microsoft office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Japan Securities Dealers Association Class 1 Sales Representative
- Knowledge of corporate finance and treasury services products a plus
