As an Associate Compliance Officer / Assistant MLRO in the Compliance function, you will play a crucial role in ensuring regulatory compliance and providing strategic advice across JPMorgan Chase worldwide. The Associate Compliance Officer, based in Turkey, will serve as the registered Assistant MLRO for JPMCB Istanbul Branch, covering Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Currency and Emerging Markets Trading, and Wholesale Payments businesses conducted in the country. The individual will report to the Country Compliance Officer & MLRO.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the registered Assistant MLRO for JPMorgan Istanbul Branch and fulfilling all tasks set by Turkish AML Law, regulations, guidelines, and ad-hoc regulatory communications.

  • Providing proactive advice to business management in developing policies and procedures for the Istanbul office, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, specifically the rules of the BRSA (Banking Regulator), CMB (Capital Markets Board), Borsa Istanbul (Stock Exchange), FCIB - MASAK (AML Regulator), as well as US rules (where applicable) and corporate policies such as the Code of Conduct.

  • Support the registered Compliance Officer and MLRO in responding to regulatory notices.
  • Conducting manual transaction monitoring, investigations, SAR filing as needed, and supporting the effectiveness of the control environment.

  • Supporting the “In Country Sanctions Officer” (ICSO) role as defined within Global Sanctions.

  • Conduct annual reviews to ensure policies align with current regulations.
  • Contribute to and conduct the Compliance Monitoring program and carrying out Compliance Risk Assessments under regional guidance.

  • Assist in preparing and delivering compliance / GFCC training sessions.
  • Identify and investigate potential rule breaches, coordinating corrective actions.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors and managing responses and actions on compliance issues raised in audit reports.

  • Providing input into Local Operating Committees, preparing reports on compliance priorities and issues. Attend local committees to advise on compliance priorities in the absence of permanent members.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of market structures, products, and key financial services regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Proficient in written and spoken Turkish and English.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills, with independent decision-making ability.
  • Experience collaborating with internal groups like Legal, Audit, or Risk.
  • In-depth knowledge of BRSA/ FCIB / CMB regulations and business lines.
  • Highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
  • Proactive attitude with a commitment to excellence.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor’s degree and FCIB License is required.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • CMB – Level 3 Certification.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS
