As an Associate in Projects Management supporting the Middle Office, you will spend each day defining, refining, and delivering set goals for our firm. You will play a key role in supporting project demand and prioritization, ensuring initiatives align with business objectives and strategic goals. You will assist in evaluating business requirements, contribute to new system implementations and enhancements to existing platforms, and help drive projects related to new business initiatives, regulatory changes, infrastructure upgrades, and process improvements.
Collaboration is central to this role, as you will work closely with technology teams, operations, and business users to help set project direction and agree on timelines and priorities. You will support the organization and facilitation of governance forums to manage stakeholder expectations and promote transparent decision-making, and assist with New Business Initiative Approvals (NBIAs) related to Middle Office workflows.
Your responsibilities will include helping to allocate resources effectively, ensuring stakeholder coverage, and proactively identifying and communicating cross-impacts, risks, and issues. You will support the tracking of project issues and help resolve conflicts between concurrent programs and projects.
Strong communication skills are essential, as you will provide timely updates to stakeholders, assist with regular business communications and monthly reports to senior management, and contribute to periodic business review management reporting to support informed decision-making. Additionally, you will collaborate with multiple Operations teams and participate in firm-wide forums addressing regulatory changes to help ensure compliance and operational readiness.
Job responsibilities
- Overseeing multiple, concurrent projects with varying complexity and scope.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Monitoring regulatory developments and supporting the implementation of required changes to maintain compliance.
- Preparing and presenting project updates, dashboards, and business review reports.
- Facilitating the rollout of new business initiatives by assessing operational impacts and ensuring readiness across relevant teams.
- Assisting with infrastructure improvements and implementing technology upgrades.
- Ensuring project documentation, governance, and reporting requirements are met for audit and compliance purposes.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Middle Office project management function.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in Fixed Income, Repos, FX, and/or Money Markets products, demonstrating a robust track record of partnering with traders and operations teams to effectively manage business requirements and coordinate technology-driven solutions.
- In-depth understanding of Middle Office and Back Office processes, trade workflows, and regulatory requirements within the financial services industry.
- Proven expertise in project management, including direct PMO responsibilities and successful delivery of multiple, complex projects within dynamic and fast-paced environments.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage, influence, and present effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior management and executive leadership.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus across diverse teams.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and apply a solution-oriented approach to complex business challenges.
- High level of organizational agility, adaptability, and resilience in navigating change and ambiguity.
