As a Data Visualization Senior Associate on the CCB Finance Data & Insights Team, you will be part of an agile product team focused on developing, producing, and transforming financial data and reporting for the Credit Card/Connected Commerce product. Leveraging your analytical skills and passion for turning raw data into actionable insights, you will create impactful data visualizations and intelligence solutions that support key strategic initiatives across the organization.
You will assist in identifying and evaluating opportunities to streamline manual processes and implement automation tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, and/or ThoughtSpot to deliver efficient, automated solutions. Your responsibilities will include extracting, analyzing, and summarizing data for ad hoc stakeholder requests, as well as contributing to the ongoing modernization of our data environment, including migration to cloud platforms.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for end-to-end preparation of intelligent solutions by development of dashboards using Tableau, Alteryx, Thoughtspot and SQL. Your work will support analysis delivered to senior management and various stakeholders for the LOB.
- Develop and enhance Alteryx workflows, collecting data from disparate data sources and summarizing the data as defined in requirements gathering with the stakeholders. Follow best practices to ensure that data is sourced from authoritative data sources.
- Develop and enhance data visualizations utilizing Tableau/Thoughtspot to provide intuitive insights and help with decision support to our key stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough validation of each component of the intelligence solution providing evidence that all data and visualizations are reporting accurate insights and evidence in the control process
- Engage in testing and meetings for related server upgrades, data source changes, and other technology components that we source data from.
- Become a subject matter expert in these responsibilities and mentor team members in becoming more proficient themselves
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS or Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or other quantitative subjects, or Financial subjects
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with data analytics projects, preferably related to financial services domain
- Minimum 3 years’ experience developing advanced data visualization and presentations, preferably with Tableau.
- Experience with business intelligence analytic and data wrangling tools such as Alteryx, Tableau Prep, or other data preparation tool.
- Experience with relational databases optimizing SQL to pull and summarize large datasets, report creation and ad-hoc analyses.
- Demonstrated ability to think beyond raw data and to understand the underlying business context and sense business opportunities hidden in data.
- Self-starter who can provide thought leadership and drive results in a dynamic and fast evolving environment.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience with Spark SQL, Databricks, Snowflake or other big-data query tools
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and partners from a variety of business functions
- Experience in reporting development and testing, and ability to interpret unstructured data and draw objective inferences given known limitations of the data
- Experience with other data wrangling tools such as SAS or Python.
