We are seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our Taiwan Payments team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Java, Unix, and Oracle Database, preferably with vendor management and communication skills.

As a Software Engineer I at JPMorganChase within the Payments Technology Team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components to the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an entry-level member of a software engineering team, you execute basic software solutions through the design, development, and troubleshooting of a single technical area within a business function, while gaining skills and experience to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Taiwan payments business operations, ensuring smooth and reliable service.
  • Support and maintain Taiwan local applications, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Participate in application rebuild in new Data Center.
  • Manage and follow up on incidents and problems related to Global, Regional Applications and Local Vendor Applications.
  • Coordinate with vendors for issue resolution, service improvement, and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of solutions and enhancements.
  • Document technical procedures, incident reports, and support activities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 2 years of hands-on experience with Java and Unix environments.
  • Experience with Oracle Database and SQL.
  • Preferably experience in vendor management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Experience in the payments or financial services industry is a plus.
