As a Payment Lifecycle Analyst within Payments Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth transfer of funds between various parties while enhancing our payment operations framework. You will leverage your knowledge of automation technologies and systems architecture to process payments across various products and parties. Your responsibilities include identifying and resolving issues, making decisions guided by established practices, and contributing to short-term operational goals. You will engage with stakeholders, manage projects, and spur continuous improvement initiatives, building strong working relationships with internal lines of business. Your ability to understand and apply cybersecurity controls, anti-fraud strategies, and data analysis techniques will be key to your success in this role.

Job responsibilities
  • Support change management activities and drive operational readiness for system changes with significant financial, reputational, and regulatory implications; proactively learn and dive into new content areas as needed.
  • Develop concise, executive-ready communication materials for senior management.
  • Track and follow up on action items; partner with workstream leads to gather progress and status updates.
  • Build and maintain governance frameworks, tools, and common methodologies across project and change management efforts.
  • Collaborate with strategy, controls, and partner teams to implement governance and control checkpoints and to develop SOPs for new business processes.
  • Support successful execution of programs within the strategic portfolio; promptly escalate key issues and recommendations to senior management for resolution.
  • Coordinate business inputs required for approval processes.
  • Provide clear, regular updates to management to ensure transparency of program status.
  • Exercise sound judgment to mitigate risk; escalate risk and control issues; proactively anticipate and identify trends.
  • Manage special projects as needed.
  • Analyze cash disruption breaks and partner with Technology and Operations to drive resolution.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to create executive-ready materials and decks.
  • Comfortable presenting to and interacting with all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and strong work ethic; able to set and achieve challenging goals, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude; collaborates across the Business Banking organization.
  • Openness to constructive feedback; thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years of experience in change and project management or related disciplines.
  • Financial services industry experience; commercial or business banking exposure is a plus.
  • Experience with complex demand management and technical programs.
  • Experience with automation and advanced analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, machine learning).
