Role Review
Global Shares Execution Services Limited is expanding its Trading Team and seeking a dynamic individual at Associate level. This is an exciting opportunity to assist the day-to-day functions undertaken by The Trading Team. The administrative position supporting the Trading Team requires a unique blend of high-level organisational skills, extreme attention to detail, and familiarity with financial markets. The role acts as a vital link between the Trading Team middle/back office, and external counterparties.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Support & Administration:
- Monitoring trade processing via order routers, inputting/validating foreign (FX) trades, and resolving contract discrepancies or unmatched trades (e.g., CREST).
- Reconciliation & Compliance: Performing daily reconciliation of trades, and, where applicable, checking for regulatory compliance (e.g., MiFID II, EMIR).
Data Management & Reporting:
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date databases, spreadsheets, and internal tracking systems. Preparing and distributing daily, weekly, or monthly performance reports for the Trading Team.
- Logistics & Communication: Acting as a point of contact for brokers and custodians, scheduling team meetings.
- Document Control: Managing documentation, filing, and archiving to ensure audit readiness.
Required Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel Proficiency: Essential for manipulating data, running reports, and maintaining trackers (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
- Trading Software/Platforms: Familiarity with platforms like Bloomberg Terminal.
- General IT Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data management tools.
Essential Competencies & Soft Skills
- Extreme Attention to Detail: Ability to work accurately under pressure, as mistakes in trade support can lead to financial loss.
- Fast-Paced Environment Adaptability: Capability to manage competing demands, prioritise tasks, and remain calm under pressure.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve reconciliation issues and anticipate needs.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for liaising with traders and external parties.
Experience & Qualifications
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience (1–3 years) in an administrative or operational role, ideally within financial services, wealth management, or a trading environment.
- Education: Degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is often preferred, though not always mandatory if equivalent experience exists.
- Regulatory Knowledge (Advantageous): Understanding of regulatory reporting (MiFID II, EMIR) or trade settlement procedures.
