Software Engineer III - Quantitative Developer

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Commercial and Investment Bank Equities organization, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Writes high-quality Python code for front-office Technology Systems
- Collaborates closely with Traders and Quantitative Researchers to deliver solutions that enhance trading and execution workflows
- Creates alignment with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Proficient hands-on coding experience in Python
- In-depth knowledge of Capital Markets and Equity Market Microstructure
- Strong knowledge of electronic trading workflows across pre-trade analytics, signal generation, execution algorithms and post-trade analysis
- Demonstrated experience applying analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in translating business and quant requirements into scalable target architectures and implementation roadmaps
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Hands on experience in Quantitative Trading and/or Market Analysis
- Familiarity and prior experience on KDB/q will be beneficial
- Knowledge of FIX, Market Data, Order Management Systems
- Prior experience with SecDB / Athena / Quartz platforms
- Data streaming knowledge on frameworks like Kafka, AMPS
