As a Technology Support Lead in the Corporate and Investment Banking Technology, Cash Equities Trading Production Management Support team, you will playa senior role in ensuring the operational stability, availability, and performance of our production services across Asia. This senior production support role is responsible for cash equities trading application support in Asia locations, supporting multiple trading desks including Electronic Client Services (ECS), Single Stock, Program Trading, Prime, Equity Derivatives, and Futures & Options. With Hong Kong as the regional headquarters for the cash equities business in Asia, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a highly dynamic trading environment, working closely with business desks to support DMA, algorithmic trading, and high-frequency trading.
Job responsibilities
- Work with senior technologists to provide end-to-end application or infrastructure service delivery for Asia cash equities trading operations.
- Engage actively with traders and support trading floor activities by promptly resolving production queries, requests, and issues in a high-pressure environment.
- Execute policies and procedures to ensure operational stability and availability.
- Monitor production environments for anomalies, address issues, and drive evolution of standard observability tools.
- Identify, communicate, diagnose, and resolve functional and technical incidents for business users, ensuring seamless user experience.
- Proactively record and track actions from system incidents to ensure root cause remediation and recurrence prevention.
- Escalate and communicate issues and solutions to business and technology stakeholders, participating from incident resolution to service restoration.
- Lead incident, problem, and change management for full stack technology systems, applications, or infrastructure.
- Plan, review, and execute regular application change releases, collaborating with business stakeholders, developers, and QA teams to minimize change-related incidents.
- Conduct regular stability reviews and act as regional subject matter expert for assigned products and applications in cash equities trading.
- Lead and execute projects for production management, platform improvement initiatives, and DevOps programs to enhance monitoring, stability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services, preferably in a trading environment.
- Strong knowledge of APAC Equities markets and electronic trading products.
- Strong knowledge of FIX protocol and Order Management Systems.
- Experience managing applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud.
- Proficient in observability and monitoring tools and techniques.
- Strong analysis, problem solving, and investigation skills.
- Excellent communication skills to confidently and clearly communicate at senior levels.
- Proven solid experience working in Linux/UNIX environments.
- Ability to program in scripting languages.
- Experience executing on processes in scope of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages and/or automation scripting.
- Practical experience with public cloud.
- Experience of Python development (highly desirable).
- Experience supporting algorithmic trading and dark pools.
- Experience with high frequency and low latency trading in FPGA.
