As a Vice President in the Reconciliations Center of Excellence at JP Morgan, you will lead and oversee all the reconciliation processes for International Private Bank business. This role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills to drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and ensure robust controls across reconciliation functions.
As a Vice President in the Reconciliations Center of Excellence at JP Morgan, you will be responsible to provide oversight and escalation support to the global reconciliation process for IPB Business, to ensure the operations run efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for managing operational risk, maintaining strong controls, and driving strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and resilience. You will be working closely with Onshore partners, Business stakeholders, Risk and Controls, Compliance, and other partners to implement projects and establish periodic review on controls governance framework, required to deliver the firm’s business strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Defines, drives and communicates the strategic direction of the business/function; applies a global perspective in establishing direction for team
- Provide direction and leadership to the team. Lead the team in their mission to provide top quality operations, team’s key results
- Maximize team’s capacity through effective resource planning and ensure robust team structure through effective training and succession planning.
- Ensure department has viable Business Continuity plans in place, that follow firm’s policy and that all staffs are familiar with the plans.
- Manages Relationships through inclusivity and is able to actively manage stake holders and demonstrate collaborative team work.
- Think strategically, should be creative and innovative; challenges status quo; generate strategic advice/product/client solutions
- Make sound and objective decisions on operational issues management and escalation.
- Ensure 100% adherence to operational procedures for accurate and timely task completion.
- Establish robust framework around governance and controls on processes and perform periodic review with the team and control partners. All daily controls and processing are completed and signed off, as well as key metrics are produced as required.
- Develop working relationship with Business, Controls, Product, Technology, Compliance and other partners to execute transformation and growth agenda for the Private Bank.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute in Business / Finance
- 12 years of core operations experience. Experience within financial services organization and in a reconciliations process. Prior experience in managing teams.
- Strong communications and people management skills, ability to influence stakeholders, lead and motivate managers and team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex operational issues.
- Demonstrates strong ownership and accountability to operate in a flexible, dynamic environment where creative and strategic thinking are required in driving solution and initiatives, while prioritizing workloads within critical deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (partnership mindset).
- People management: Lead diverse teams, develop key talent, and manage expectations, including remote oversight across multiple locations
- Facilitate day-to-day work flow management maintaining 100% quality.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills and highly result oriented
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and cloud technologies preferred.
- Knowledge of iRecs, Tableau, Python and Alteryx CORE certification is a plus.
