As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Enterprise Technology, Infrastructure Platforms line of business, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to infrastructure projects of moderate scope.
- Lead workstreams or projects involving one or more infrastructure engineering technologies.
- Collaborate with other platform teams to architect and implement solutions that address issues and drive modernization.
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot technical solutions for moderately complex problems.
- Assess upstream and downstream impacts of technical changes and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Foster a team environment that values diversity, inclusion, and respect.
- Document project details, processes, and operational runbooks.
- Communicate technical strategies and solutions clearly to management.
- Support infrastructure lifecycle management, including planning and refresh activities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for infrastructure processes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Formal training or certification in infrastructure disciplines and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in network architecture, design, and engineering within large enterprises.
- Proficient with data center networking products: Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, and Cisco ACI.
- Hands-on experience with routing technologies: BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS.
- Practical experience with Cisco and Arista platforms (e.g., Nexus Series, Catalyst).
- Experience with SDN and overlay networks: Cisco ACI, MP-BGP EVPN/VXLAN.
- Knowledge of switching concepts: VLANs, STP, VPC/MLAG, stacking.
- Familiarity with network segmentation and related technologies.
- Proficient in automation tools: Ansible (playbooks), data modeling, and Jinja2 templating.
- Strong documentation skills for technical projects and processes.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
- Understanding of DevOps principles and network automation solutions.
- Knowledge of public cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS) and cloud technologies.
- Experience with IP Multicast routing.
