Job description

As part of the IPB Digital Advisor & Client Solutions Product team, the IPB Client Wealth Data Product Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving the data strategy for the suite of Portfolio tools that are managed within the team including goals-based planning, Portfolio Analytics and Stress Tests, Portfolio Holdings, Performance and Client Review and Orion. This role is responsible for overseeing the distribution of our core data set across strategic architecture, ensuring data consistency and integrity throughout all systems and touchpoints.

The Product Manager will align data strategy with broader product and AI initiatives, enabling the delivery of data-driven insights to Advisors through the most effective and appropriate channels. By partnering with Technology, Design, and key business stakeholders, the Data Product Manager ensures our data assets are leveraged to their fullest potential, supporting both business objectives and the evolving needs of our users.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a data strategy to streamline the distribution and enable the surfacing of personalized, data-driven insights to Advisors, empowering them across their day-to-day journeys.
  • Partner with Advisors, Solutions, Chief Data Office (CDO), Designers, and Technologists to ensure seamless integration of data across platforms and align priorities to solve user’s biggest data-related problems.
  • Own the product vision and strategies to deliver data-centric solutions that are valuable (users choose to use them), viable (solutions work for the business), usable (users can easily interpret data insights), and feasible (engineers can implement data solutions).
  • Learn and navigate business constraints related to Data (including Client, Party & Accounts, Positions & Transactions), Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Privacy to ensure data solutions are compliant and effective.
  • Contribute deep knowledge of user behavior and engagement with data products, utilizing analytics to track usage and optimize data-driven features.
  • Engage with key stakeholders throughout the product management lifecycle to ensure data needs are met and business objectives are achieved.
  • Lead the product development lifecycle by defining requirements (in partnership with other teams), ensuring sprint inputs (e.g. design and requirements) and outputs (e.g. tested code) are as envisioned, and providing direction and smart trade off decisions for the scrum team. Collaborates with other product and requirement owners and designers to deliver end-to-end product and experience. Partner with Technology to triage issues end to end until full resolution is achieved. Communicate issue resolution to appropriate parties and escalate issue as necessary to ensure proper response.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in financial services, with experience in wealth management, asset management, digital banking, or a closely related business leading strategic or transformational change.
  • Extensive experience managing product delivery across multiple work streams with varying timelines, priorities and complexities , ultimately launching new / enhanced product to market
  • Proficiency in SQL and other data querying methods to extract, analyze, and interpret data from complex datasets.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, say ‘no’ when required, and ensure our organization is on track to execute and deliver strategic change that meets our goals.
  • Experience in KPI frameworks such as OKRs or HEART to communicate measures of success.
  • Strong understanding of different technological development methodologies (e.g., Agile) and design techniques with ability to successfully lead regardless of approach.
