As an Executive Director, Head of Real Estate and Location Strategy you will operate with efficiency, transparency, critical thinking, and financial discipline. The role guides strategic real estate solutions that are flexible and responsive to market conditions and events. You will partner closely with Finance & Business Management, Global Real Estate, and US Wealth Management senior leaders to align real estate decisions with business objectives, financial and growth targets, and operational requirements. Job responsibilities

  • Lead the management of the US Wealth Management real estate portfolio, including corporate sites, Select offices, and branch locations for business and functional partners.
  • Develop and implement a real estate strategy that supports US Wealth Management’s needs, business expansion, market entry and exit, and long-term operational goals, advocating for US Wealth Management in firmwide real estate decisions.
  • Maintain engagement with senior stakeholders, including the US Wealth Management leadership team, providing expert guidance and principled advice on sensitive and complex real estate matters.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, landlords, and service providers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
  • Partner with Finance and Global Real Estate on site selection, lease negotiations, contracts, acquisitions, dispositions, and facilities management for all US Wealth Management locations.
  • Optimize the real estate footprint and operating model by utilizing data-driven approaches to space utilization, occupancy planning, and long-term forecasting.
  • Guide efficiency and operational effectiveness by streamlining processes for headcount projections, location strategy, and allocations in partnership with Planning & Analysis and Global Real Estate Finance teams.
  • Implement solutions for data collection, reporting, and analytics that provide the business line of sight into real estate utilization to effectively manage the portfolio.
  • Ensure all real estate decisions are grounded in robust financial analysis, risk assessment, and alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Controls, and Resiliency teams to ensure all real estate activities adhere to firmwide policies and external regulations, assess risks related to market volatility, regulatory requirements, and operational resilience, and develop mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Lead the development and implementation of structured workflows for co-locations and moves, achieving regulatory approval and demonstrating proactive risk management.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate 10 years of experience in business management, strategy, location strategy, or corporate real estate, within financial services or a large corporate environment.
  • Influence senior leaders and guide consensus in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Exhibit exceptional adaptability with sustained performance across flexible and changing work structures.
  • Apply strong critical thinking, relationship management, and change leadership skills.
  • Manage large-scale capital projects and budgets across multiple geographies.
  • Execute robust financial analysis and risk assessment for real estate decisions.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches for space utilization and occupancy planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align real estate activities with business objectives.
  • Advise on sensitive and complex real estate matters and coordinate escalations impacting employee experience.
  • Provide actionable insights to business leaders on real estate utilization, cost drivers, and portfolio performance.
