As a Technology Support II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and support market data systems to ensure optimal availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to market data feeds, applications, and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address and resolve data discrepancies and outages.
- Maintain and update market data configurations, entitlements, and permissions.
- Assist in onboarding new data sources and integrating market data into various platforms.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on market data tools and applications.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and maintain documentation for market data processes, procedures, and support activities.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in market data technologies and services.
- Participate in projects related to market data enhancements and system upgrades.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience in market data support or a similar role within the financial services industry.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as UNIX/Shell scripting and Python.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and market data products.
- Proficiency in market data platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar.
- Experience with market data technologies (e.g., RMDS/TREP, DACS entitlements, Bloomberg BPIPE, Solace).
- Experience with Linux (RedHat) system administration and knowledge of storage filesystems.
- Experience using monitoring and forensic tools (e.g., ITRS Geneos, Splunk, Kibana, Galvanometer).
- Understanding of network technologies, including IP (TCP/UDP/MCAST), switch, and routing topologies.
- Familiarity with data feed technologies and protocols (e.g., FIX, API), and market data feeds/content (direct exchange and aggregated).
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS.
