As an Executive Director, Credit Card Data Owner in the Credit Card Data & Analytics team, you will be accountable for all data in the Credit Card product that is created, provisioned, or consumed to support strategic business objectives, analytics, operations, and reporting. You will coordinate Card’s sourcing and use of data across domains, drive data strategy for key programs, and ensure data quality and protection. You’ll serve as a member of the product leadership team, partnering with Product, Technology, and Analytics leaders to deliver business value and mitigate data risks.

You will act as a subject matter expert, connecting data providers and consumers, and ensuring business data is understood, fit for purpose, and integrated into analytics platforms. You’ll be responsible for identifying and mitigating data risks throughout the data lifecycle, maintaining compliance with firmwide policies and standards, and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

Job responsibilities

  • Define and execute a strategy for the development and delivery of product data to support business objectives, analytics, operations, and reporting
  • Drive understanding and use of data across business lines through partnerships with Product Owners, analytics leads, and business process owners
  • Provide subject matter expertise on data content and usage within the product and business area
  • Identify and prioritize critical data, ensuring it is well-documented, classified, and controlled with metadata
  • Support Data & Analytics leads by identifying data for integration into analytics platforms for projects such as machine learning and AI
  • Establish and coordinate data quality requirements, influencing resources to deliver accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Prioritize and resolve data issues to maintain data consumer trust
  • Direct the development of processes to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks, including protection, retention, storage, use, and quality
  • Ensure compliance with firmwide policies, standards, and procedures for data integrity and protection
  • Build and maintain relationships with data delivery partners and consumers, including senior leaders in Business, Technology, Analytics, Operations, and Risk
  • Drive teams toward execution milestones, manage risks and inefficiencies, and ensure successful delivery
  • Demonstrate governance by tracking workstreams, KPIs, deliverables, risks, and status. Manage direct or matrixed staff to execute data-related tasks

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years of industry experience in a data-related field, Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong ability to articulate business cases from technical details and manage senior stakeholders
  • Data querying and manipulation skills using SQL, Python, or similar technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tight delivery timelines across multiple workstreams
  • Technical knowledge of data engineering, pipelines, modeling, and architecture
  • Proven ability to execute through internal partnerships and influence across job functions
  • Excellent leadership skills in managing products, programs, projects, and teams. Structured thinker and effective communicator with excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior audiences. Understanding of Agile technological development methodology

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Master’s degree
  • Deep subject matter expertise in Credit Card area
  • Experience with data science and engineering
  • Experience in a large, matrixed organization
