As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team, Banking Payments team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Provides technical leadership and mentorship to software engineering teams, fostering growth and development of junior engineers
- Oversees end-to-end delivery of software projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and quality standards
- Leads incident response and root cause analysis for critical production issues, driving continuous improvement and preventive measures
- Manages and optimizes cloud infrastructure, ensuring cost efficiency, security, and compliance
- Facilitates technical workshops, knowledge sharing sessions, and code reviews to promote learning and innovation
- Partners with QA and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment, monitoring, and support of applications
- Designs and implements scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions leveraging Java, Spring, AWS, Oracle, and Postgres
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced hands on experience with programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Spring Boot and SQL including development best practices
- Extensive hands-on experience in RDBMS, particularly with Oracle and PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning for efficient data management and retrieval
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Hands-on experience in AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS KMS, AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS S3, EMR, Athena, SQS, Event Bridge, PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform & Cloud Formation etc.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as DevOps best practices, CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as Angular or React.js
- Certifications in target areas (Cloud/Kubernetes/IaC etc.)
- Financial Service domain experience or Understanding of the Payments processing in a Bank
