Commercial Banking (CB) delivers extensive industry knowledge, local expertise and dedicated service to more than 24,000 global clients, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions and not-for-profit organizations along with nearly 35,000 real estate investors/owners.
The Business Analysis & Reporting Analyst will join a global Management Reporting & Analytics team, assisting with a data & management reporting development agenda for regulatory operations. The candidate will learn core business processes, build new data mart capabilities, develop metrics/management reporting, and provide decision support via ad hoc reporting and data analytics.
Position Summary
J.P. Morgan is seeking talented candidates for a position of an Associate in its Credit Risk Analytics & Reporting team based in India. The team functions as an internal group responsible for solving business problems, driving usage of analytics in the organization and supporting business partners in deriving their strategies. Opportunity to work on real-time, high impact business cases leading to profitable growth across the Credit Risk organization.
As an Associate you will be responsible for formulating creative solutions for business problems and delivering actionable insights, ultimately helping our Credit Risk partners in managing and growing their business. Your primary responsibilities will be scoping business problems into measurable hypotheses, performing statistical analyses, generating meaningful recommendations for the business & productionization of the analytics solutions in various forms, including reports & interactive dashboards
Primary Responsibilities
Lead/support the development, implementation and execution of key reporting to be leveraged by senior audience across the firm
Provide support in a data SME capacity for initiatives spanning across strategy development, enterprise data management and integration, reporting and analytics
Fulfill ad hoc data requests and identify opportunities to enhance self-service functionality via our existing report/dashboard offerings
Manage all aspects of assigned work delivery including preparation of presentation materials for ongoing stakeholder communications
Follow and implement “best practices”; operate with risk controlled mindset
Key Skills Required:
- Problem solving – ability to define the problem, gather relevant data, uncover underlying issues, develop and evaluate solution options, obtain consensus, and implement the best solution in a thoughtful and detailed manner
- Communications – strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize “story” for executive-level audience and adjust messages and style based on different audiences and agendas
- Teamwork and leadership – ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional setting and drive towards the strategic end-state
- Project management and execution – well-developed organizational and time management skills to manage across multiple priorities and through changing business demand and deliver on the agreed upon scope and timeline
- Technical and analytical – ability to analyze and synthesize large amount of data, while incorporating relevant business context, to develop strategic conclusions – proficiency in SQL, Qlik Sense, ThoughtSpot, Tableau and Alteryx preferred.
- Additional Skills - Knowledge in Python, R and other advanced analytics tools are a bonus
Qualification:
5-8 years of experience in reporting and stakeholder management
Structured thinker with passion for analyzing data to drive decisioning and actions
Data warehousing concepts with Reporting skills
Strong background in and/or familiar with financial services industry
Working knowledge of operational risks and controls
Ability and desire to learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically
Self-motivated, willingness to take ownership
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in BE/MCA/MBA preferred
