Join our collaborative Market Risk Coverage team where we transform complex data into actionable risk insights for J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. Our work spans the full data lifecycle—from identifying and validating source data across multiple systems to building automated workflows that deliver timely, accurate metrics to stakeholders. Working closely with partners across the organization, we leverage business intelligence tools like Tableau, Snowflake, and Alteryx, along with Python for data manipulation, analytics, and automation, to produce exposure analytics, visualizations, and enterprise-level tools that support critical risk decision-making.
As a Senior Associate, Market Risk Coverage Senior Officer, you will play a key role in sourcing, validating, and preparing data to support exposure metrics and analytics. While you'll frequently leverage the firm's core data mart, you'll also identify and integrate data from disparate sources as needed, establishing workflows to ensure reliable delivery when and where it's required. Partnering with teammates and stakeholders throughout the process, you'll use SQL to query and prepare datasets that power visualizations, dashboards, and broader analytical tools, refine analyses in collaboration with senior team members, and prepare materials for stakeholder review. This role offers ongoing opportunities for professional development in data engineering, analytics tools, and automation techniques including Python.
Job responsibilities
- Assist in using the firm’s core data mart to identify and validate relevant data sources for Exposure metrics and analytics, focusing on data completeness and consistency in partnership with data analytics teams.
- Prepare and QA datasets to support the development of visualizations and dashboards using business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Snowflake, Alteryx, and Python.
- Write and maintain basic to intermediate SQL queries, assist with building data workflows, and help troubleshoot data issues to obtain required data.
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders to capture requirements, incorporate feedback, and assist in dashboard delivery and user orientation.
- Provide day-to-day operational support for production dashboard applications in alignment with enterprise-approved processes and controls.
- Support the ongoing production and maintenance of risk metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), including routine monitoring and documentation.
- Help prepare summaries and materials for senior stakeholders under the guidance of senior team members.
- Maintain ongoing professional development in relevant tools, standards, and best practices.
- Coordinate with Data, Technology, and Operations teams to resolve issues, align on data definitions, and ensure smooth handoffs.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years in an analytical, data operations, or business intelligence support role.
- Working knowledge of Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, Alteryx, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience contributing to data pipelines and dashboards, including data identification, query construction, testing, and documentation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to translate feedback into actionable updates.
- Team-oriented with a strong sense of accountability; able to manage assigned tasks independently with appropriate guidance.
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to risk data, metrics, or reporting in financial services.
- Experience supporting production BI assets within controlled environments (e.g., change management, access management, testing).
- Familiarity and preferably working knowledge in Python
- Familiarity with data quality checks, metadata, and lineage documentation.
