Join a collaborative Control Management team where you’ll coordinate complex audits, partner with stakeholders across the business, and help ensure our operations are always exam‑ready. You’ll use your communication, organization, and analytical skills to streamline reviews and strengthen our risk management practices.
As an Exam Manager, Senior Associate in Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) Control Management, you coordinate first line of defense control reviews, internal and external audits, and second line of defense analyses and challenges. You will serve as the liaison across WLS Operations, audit partners, control managers, and other stakeholders to ensure requests are tracked, fulfilled accurately and on time, and escalated when needed. You help the team maintain a strong risk and control environment by driving planning and exam readiness, documentation quality, and clear, timely reporting. You will also support other Control Management initiatives that enhance operational resilience.
Job Responsibilities
- Liaise with Operations Managers, stakeholders, auditors, control management, second line of defense, and regulators to drive clear, timely exam outcomes
- Maintain an end-to-end audit calendar and provide status updates in stakeholder forums
- Manage audit readiness to confirm controls and documentation are in place before exam start
- Track exams and requests to ensure accurate, timely submission and escalate issues with urgency
- Coordinate and schedule meetings to address audit inquiries and follow-ups
- Partner with business and control teams to gather, review, and submit required documentation
- Review request packages to ensure materials fully address audit scope and requirements
- Submit approved documentation on time and update trackers and reporting accordingly
- Support reporting on exam progress, themes, and issues across planning, tracking, documentation, and results
- Contribute to control management projects that improve exam processes and operational risk management
- Help promote a culture of accountability, exam readiness, and continuous improvement across WLS Operations
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in the financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance; or relevant subject-matter expertise in a business operations function
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio); working knowledge of data analysis in Excel and/or Access
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Strong organization skills with disciplined documentation practices and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes
- Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills with sound judgment in decision-making
- Ability to understand business processes, risks, and controls relevant to audit and exam scopes
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services with exposure to first and second line control environments
- Experience coordinating cross-functional exams within a three-lines-of-defense framework
- Familiarity with exam tracking tools, dashboards, and metrics for reporting and governance
- Experience supporting Wholesale Lending or similar operations functions
- Visio process mapping and documentation best practices
- Stakeholder management across regions and lines of business
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in controls or exam management
