As an Analyst/ Associate in the Equity Research team, you will leverage advanced tools, models, and data to provide clients with original and actionable insights, reports, commentaries, and strategies. Our team is dedicated to delivering first-class research, which is core to our value proposition and what our clients expect from us.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to thematic sector reports; collaborate on cross-sector projects with other teams. You will be expected to approach each project with curiosity and a questioning mindset, seeking new perspectives and challenging conventional wisdom.
  • Handle day-to-day client requests and needs efficiently.
  • Communicate your team's ideas persuasively to internal and external parties, tailoring communications to client needs. You will frame arguments with clarity and insight, ensuring your communications reflect a rigorous thinking framework.
  • Organize fact-finding trips and channel-check meetings upon clients’ bespoke requests or for investor tours.
  • Suggest new approaches or ideas to enhance your franchise as a business. Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to challenge the status quo are highly valued.
  • Understand and adhere to the firm's risk management policies and applicable legal and regulatory rules.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • At least 2 year of experience with proven analytical skills, not limited to accounting and finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Ability to independently arrange fact-finding trips and channel-check meetings.
  • Entrepreneurial drive with strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to complete a robust model (base and sensitivity cases) from start to finish with minimal guidance; mastery of the levers in the model.
  • Ability to discuss in detail your understanding of the fundamentals/drivers (competitive landscape, risks) of your industry/country and thoroughly understand drivers of relevant markets to explain and anticipate market movements.
  • Ability to synthesize disparate pieces of information and articulate a compelling thesis or argument clearly and cogently.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin with the ability to read and analyze Chinese-language company disclosures and engage with Mandarin-speaking clients and corporates.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Strong preference for candidates with data science or consulting backgrounds who can think outside the box and conduct non-consensus/thematic research.
  • Demonstrates creativity in solving problems and always looks for new ways of doing things.
  • Ability to thrive under competitive pressures and remain focused on client needs. A solid track record of performance and resilience is expected.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with business clients and management.
  • A CFA/CPA, or progress toward a CFA/CPA, is a plus.
