DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Participate in technology and integrated business and technology audit engagements, from planning to reporting, and produce quality deliverables and ensure audits are completed timely and within budget. Communicate audit findings to management, and identify opportunities for improvement in the design and effectiveness of key controls. Partner with stakeholders, business management, other control groups, external auditors, and regulators to keep up to date on key initiatives and emerging issues. Drive efficiency and improvement to prior audit test approaches, including the use of data analytic techniques to provide broader coverage of the environment and identify issues that may not have been found before via sampling. Coach and mentor junior team members, including performing first level oversight and workpaper review. Write clear and effective workpapers that are in line with department expectations. Provide recommendations on the design and operating effectiveness of technology and technology-related controls in the integrated and technology-only audits. Partner with business audit and other technology audit teams to provide subject matter expertise related to technology scoping, test design and analysis of issues. Operate as a trusted advisor to technology stakeholders during and outside of audits, providing continuous monitoring of the environment for key changes to controls and systems. Assess the effectiveness of IT general controls and application controls, including data integrity and functionality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Technology Auditor, Software Engineer, Software Engineer Trainee or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Technology Auditor, Software Engineer, Software Engineer Trainee or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Technology auditing; Assessing code to identify where qualifiers or filters are applied; Performing data analysis using Excel Text functions including LEFT, RIGHT, MID, TRIM, CONCATENATE, Pivot tables, conditional formatting, and VLOOKUP, and logical functions including IF, AND, OR, and SUMIFS, to identify if the data supports expected outcomes of system safeguards in place and identify anomalies for follow up; Assessing technical job settings to identify key parameters including frequency of job runs, configurations to notify appropriate parties of failures and reattempt failures, and data quality monitoring; Assessing the probability and impact of an internal control weakness identified through testing activities, including defect analysis and validation of remediation effectiveness; Assessing processes and safeguards across key technology domains including Technology development, Privileged access and identity management, IT Operations, Resiliency, Data Management, and Incident and Event Management.
