U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy Vice President, Measurement and Initiatives

We are seeking a Vice President to join our team! The JPMorgan Chase U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy team is responsible for evaluating, managing and implementing changes to various benefit programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability), monitoring plan performance, regulations and marketplace trends, and taking an active part in the design and implementation of the firm’s overall wellness initiatives. The medical plan and wellness program is designed to meet the needs of over 180,000 U.S. employees and is recognized for its commitment to employee health and well-being. This is a full-time role based in Jersey City, NJ, or Chicago, IL.
As a Vice President within the U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy Team, you will blend strategy, analytics, and hands-on execution to evaluate, launch, measure, and scale U.S. healthcare initiatives and innovations aimed at improving employee health care.
Job responsibilities:
- Define and track metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of benefits offerings and initiatives; ensure consistent methodologies and enable objective comparisons of financial and clinical outcomes across vendors and programs.
- Research and evaluate ad hoc benefits offerings and program enhancements; quantify value, define success measures, and prepare materials for senior leadership review and approval.
- Own day‑to‑day operations of healthcare initiatives and vendor partnerships—from product offerings and program administration to process updates, member engagement, communications, and issue resolution—to deliver a seamless, high‑quality employee experience.
- Manage cross‑functional deliverables with internal and external stakeholders; interpret reporting and financials; support risk and compliance activities and plan audits; and drive operational excellence.
- Monitor healthcare trends and emerging employer healthcare transformation opportunities, and innovate with vendors to pilot and scale solutions.
- Partner with the broader Benefits team to develop and implement new ways to engage employees in their overall well‑being.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including benefits analytics and reporting, benefits delivery and customer service, wellness, communications, finance, product, employee experience, HR technology, IT security, legal, and sourcing.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Deep understanding of the healthcare marketplace, along with a demonstrated track record of deep and thoughtful analysis of the healthcare marketplace, as it relates to large employer plans
- 10+ years (or progressively responsible experience) in corporate benefits, benefits consulting, or health plan/health insurance field
- Builder’s mindset that experiments, measures, learns, and iterates, bringing fresh, practical approaches to solve complex problems
- Experience in strategic, analytical, or metric-driven roles, translating insights into action
- Ability to effectively lead and collaborate across internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Large firm experience (50,000+ employees)
- Experience working in corporate benefits, with a particular focus on strategy and analytics, is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with self-insured actuarial and financial analysis is strongly preferred
