As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Core & Foundational Platforms (CFP), specifically as a part of our Graph Managed Services Team, you will play a crucial role in an agile environment. Your responsibilities will include improving, developing, and providing reliable, high-quality technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Leveraging your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, you will have a substantial impact on the business and address a wide range of challenges across various technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
- Designs and implements scalable cloud native software solutions using modern technology stacks to deliver highly available, performant, and resilient products.
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
- Mentors junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance and support through code reviews and educational workshops.
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.
- Maintains the managed service environments; dev, test and prod.
- Adds to the teams culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on engineering infrastructure and software solutions concepts and proficient advanced 10 years experience.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Extensive experience in software development and delivery.
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g. Cloud, Infrastructure As Code).
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g Ansible, SaltStack).
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Understanding the importance of great documentation and a passion for helping customs.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with Graph database technologies including in-depth knowledge of instillation, administration and operational support of TigerGraph and Neo4j.
- In-depth understanding of database architecture, engineering with specific, hands-on experience in managing graph databases.
- Understanding of Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) Shared-Nothing Architecture and multi-node database designs.
- CI/CD pipelines preferably including Jenkins and/or Spinnaker.
- Experience with core services including Active Directory, Kerberos and DNS.
- Comfortable in setting and defining strategic priorities and working with product management.
- Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals.
