Job Summary

As a/an Senior Associate in Card Credit Risk Management - Installments in Card Credit Risk Management within Consumer and Community Banking, you will support the development of portfolio risk policies for Buy Now Pay Later and installment lending programs, including Chase Pay Over Time at Point of Sale, Chase Pay Over Time After Purchase, My Chase Loan, and new programs in development or Proof-of-Concept stages.

You will apply statistical and analytical techniques to large datasets, design and evaluate strategies in a disciplined Test vs. Control environment, and translate complex findings into clear recommendations for senior leaders. You will also work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure strategies are implemented successfully and perform as intended.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop risk strategies for installment and BNPL programs by leveraging large datasets and advanced analytics.
  • Apply statistical and quantitative methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize data from multiple sources.
  • Analyze customer and portfolio performance to identify opportunities to improve profitability, losses, customer experience, and execution quality.
  • Design test-and-learn experiments using Test vs. Control methodology to evaluate strategy impact.
  • Implement new strategies by partnering with IT, Operations, and other Credit Risk teams to translate analytics into executable requirements.
  • Track and monitor strategy performance post-implementation to ensure outcomes align with expectations.
  • Report results and insights through concise, executive-ready materials and clear storytelling.
  • Validate analytical conclusions through disciplined checks, sensitivity testing, and structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Identify enhancements to existing strategies and recommend changes supported by rigorous analysis.
  • Support governance routines by documenting assumptions, methodologies, and results to enable strong decision-making.
  • Collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement of risk management processes, tools, and technology enablement.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research) or equivalent work/training; Master’s degree a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in Credit Risk Management and/or Marketing Analytics within the financial industry, preferably credit cards.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, evaluate, and optimize strategies using quantitative and statistical techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in SAS and/or SQL with experience working with large, complex datasets (excellent SAS or SQL skills required).
  • Strong understanding of P&L drivers and how strategy decisions impact profitability and risk outcomes.
  • Ability to structure analyses logically with strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into concise presentations with clear business conclusions for senior management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) for analysis and communication.
  • Experience using Tableau (or similar BI tools) to visualize performance and communicate insights.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners (e.g., IT, Operations, Credit Risk).
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience supporting or managing credit strategies for installment lending, BNPL, or pay-over-time products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting findings to varied stakeholder groups.
  • Credit risk management experience specifically within consumer card portfolios.
  • Strong, practical understanding of profit drivers and tradeoffs across loss, growth, and customer experience.
  • Demonstrated strength in data analytics and segmentation approaches for strategy development.
  • Experience operating in a controlled experimentation environment (A/B testing, champion/challenger, test-control).
  • Familiarity with end-to-end implementation processes and partnering with technology teams to deliver production changes.
