Job Summary :
As an Executive Director, Consumer Economics within the Consumer and Business Intelligence Center of Economic Intelligence team, you will define and monitor key consumer segments, setting the analytical agenda to surface timely insights on financial well-being. You will build automated analytical artifacts and dashboards, and author high-impact internal and external reports that translate complex consumer finance data into clear, actionable narratives. You will partner closely with Consumer and SMB Intelligence teams, analytics groups across lines of business, and the JPMorgan Chase Institute to coordinate research and support leadership, investor relations, and external affairs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Define key consumer segments for long-term analytical monitoring (such as income segments) and near-term deep dives (such as those disproportionately impacted by inflation)
- Develop an analytical agenda, in partnership with other Consumer and SMB Intelligence teams, analytics groups in other lines of business, and the JPMC Institute
- Author internal and external reports on segments of heightened interest
- Create automated analytical artifacts that monitor the health of key segments to the business
- Contribute analytical views and talking points in support of investor relations and external affairs
- Coordinate research efforts as it relates to segments in the health of the consumer across the JPMC organization
- Drive part of the editorial calendar for Consumer and Small Business Intelligence
- Participate in interviews and podcast series
- Engage with community institutions, such as policy think tanks and local governments
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years of analytics experience; could include prior experience in consumer finance, economics, analytics or related field as well as people management.
- Robust knowledge of market economics & econometric modeling of fundamental economic relationships
- In depth appreciation and experience looking at consumer finance data
- Ability to quickly translate and communicate microeconomic and macroeconomic trends in consumer & business data
- Subject matter expertise in consumer financial health frameworks and segmentation methodologies
- Advanced analytical mindset; you love digging into the data and defining what it tells you
- Excellent writing skills; ability to effectively translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies for varied audiences
- Demonstrably effective communication skills; Strong listening skills as well as the skills to persuade particularly based on evidence; Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with all levels of employees, including executive audiences and across multiple stakeholder groups
- Exceptional problem solving, and analysis skills combined with the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate findings to all levels throughout the organization
