As a Vice President Program Manager within Consumer and Community Banking, you will manage and coordinate investor and agency exams across Mortgage Banking. You partner with Control Managers, Operating Division contacts, Legal, and Senior Managers to deliver well-governed exam execution, response management, and remediation outcomes. You help shape the team culture and drive continuous improvement.
You will work with federal government agencies (HUD, VA, GNMA, USDA, MHA-C), GSEs (FHLMC, FNMA), private investors, master servicers, and mortgage insurance companies. Your role is critical in ensuring compliance and operational excellence within Home Lending.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with Exam and Control Managers to review engagement letter details and confirm exam scope and focus
- Identify and validate remediation status for prior findings within current exam scope
- Lead meetings with Operating Divisions to confirm status, evidence, and readiness related to prior issue remediation
- Inform senior Operating Division leadership of open Action Plans and drive escalation to closure
- Coordinate pre-exam preparation meetings to ensure Operating Divisions understand completed remediation and current exam focus
- Participate in ongoing exam meetings, including discussions of open, newly disclosed, or prior findings
- Lead issue-focused working sessions to substantiate and clarify potential findings with stakeholders and examiners
- Identify opportunities to resolve or remediate items during the exam period
- Participate in exam exit meetings to confirm final findings and align on remediation and Action Plan development
- Provide regular status updates to Exam and Control Managers on key developments, risks, and escalations
- Manage and perform project work as identified and assigned
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Ability to partner with stakeholders on projects
- Strong written and oral executive-level communication skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Mortgage Operations, Operational Risk, or Audit
- Minimum 5 years of management experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deliverables in parallel
- Familiarity with investor, federal, and state regulatory requirements
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience driving root cause analysis, gap assessment, and process improvement in an exam/remediation context
