Collateral Service Analyst

Collateral releases are a critical part of closing the loan lifecycle—and you’ll help ensure they happen accurately and on time. In this role, you will partner with teams across the business to deliver releases that meet regulatory requirements and service-level commitments. You will review documentation, manage daily workflow, and solve issues that impact quality and turnaround time. You will also help improve how we work through process enhancements and automation. As a Collateral Service Analyst in Wholesale Lending Services – Collateral Release Team, you support collateral releases at loan payoff and line-of-business requests by validating documentation, managing work queues, and helping ensure regulatory and service-level timelines are met. You work closely with business partners to resolve inquiries, reduce rework, and strengthen end-to-end controls. You help us improve processes by identifying root causes, recommending solutions, and supporting updates to operating procedures.

Job responsibilities

  • Review loan and release requests to confirm required collateral and regulatory documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Process collateral releases in line with documented procedures, regulatory timeframes, and service-level agreements.
  • Manage daily workflow to balance volumes, prevent backlogs, and reduce missed deadlines.
  • Perform end-of-day checks to confirm all received requests are assigned, tracked, and completed.
  • Resolve inquiries from business partners and officers by researching issues and communicating clear outcomes.
  • Document actions and decisions to support auditability and consistent execution.
  • Monitor quality control standards and escalate risks, exceptions, or recurring defects promptly.
  • Identify root causes impacting productivity or quality and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support process improvements and automation opportunities to simplify work and reduce turnaround time.
  • Update operating procedures and cascade process changes to ensure consistent adoption.
  • Maintain contingency readiness by supporting resiliency planning for operational disruptions.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4 years of experience in banking operations, lending operations, or financial services processing
  • 4 years of experience reviewing and validating transaction documentation in a controlled environment
  • Experience managing workflows to meet service-level agreements and time-sensitive deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to resolve inquiries and provide clear status updates
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to analyze data to identify issues, trends, and corrective actions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities
  • Flexibility to work across shift schedules as business needs require

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in loan processing and/or collateral-related operations
  • Experience supporting collateral release processing and documentation controls
  • Experience with continuous improvement methods (for example, root cause analysis and defect reduction)
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams across operations and business stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of quality control frameworks in an operations environment
  • Experience supporting automation or workflow enhancements (for example, using reporting or low-code tools)
  • Familiarity with analytics or artificial intelligence tools used to improve operational processes
