Job Summary
As an Reference Data Analyst within the Instrument, Pricing & Issuer Reference Data Operations team in Reference Data Management Operations (RDMO), you will create and maintain securities and issuer reference data and oversee pricing controls across asset classes. You will source, validate, and reconcile instrument and pricing data from internal and external vendors, perform stale/variance checks, and ensure BAU deliverables meet SLAs while minimizing risk. You will partner with Operations, Front/Middle Office, Performance, Client Reporting, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, Technology, and CDO to resolve data issues, support strategic integrations, and improve pricing control processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and maintain securities and issuer reference data and pricing for marketable assets (e.g., equities, fixed income, listed options, mutual funds, derivatives, hedge funds).
- Maintain and price tradable alternatives and private assets using multiple vendor sources (e.g., Bloomberg, S&P, IDC, Reuters, CITCO) and internal data feeds.
- Perform stale price and variance control checks and produce control reporting within defined SLAs.
- Analyze issues and errors, assess root causes, propose solutions to managers, and drive issues to closure with clear ownership.
- Execute BAU instrument creation, pricing workflows, and control reports while monitoring operational risk and data quality.
- Perform testing for enhancements and strategic integrations; support adoption of authoritative data sources and strategic systems of record.
- Liaise with internal/external pricing vendors and Technology teams to resolve feed/job failures, monitor batch success, and escalate issues promptly.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- 4+ years of experience in reference data operations covering instruments, issuer data, and pricing controls across asset classes.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and products (stocks, bonds, options) with knowledge of instrument/pricing reference data, corporate actions, and index benchmarking.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP; strong numerical aptitude and mathematical mindset.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, attention to detail, proactive ownership, ability to work independently and multitask under pressure, effective communication across teams.
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Experience working with pricing and reference data vendors such as Bloomberg, Reuters, ICE, S&P, IDC, and CITCO.
- Experience supporting market data analytics and SOD pricing oversight processes.
- Experience partnering with Technology and CDO to onboard strategic systems of record and authoritative data sources.
- Demonstrated track record improving pricing control processes and data quality user experience across regions.
