Job summary
As a Data Management Vice President in the Chief Data Office, you lead transformation efforts to elevate data quality management for the Markets business. You partner with Front Office, Business Managers, Operations, and Technology teams across the Commercial & Investment Bank and other lines of business to document data flows, ensure data is fit-for-purpose, and resolve complex data challenges. Together, we drive innovation, strengthen controls, and deliver value to our clients and the firm.

Job responsibilities

  • Drive root cause analysis and resolution of data quality issues through robust program governance, process mapping, and deep data analysis.
  • Lead discussions with technology teams to agree and implement technical solutions for data quality remediation.
  • Discover and document end-to-end data lineage, tracing data from creation to consumption to support regulatory requirements such as BCBS 239.
  • Partner with Markets operations, technology, and product control teams to establish and document data quality controls across critical data flows.
  • Implement and champion Data Quality practices across the Commercial & Investment Bank, supporting firmwide regulatory and strategic objectives.
  • Provide advisory services on high-profile data initiatives, leveraging project management and business analysis expertise.
  • Influence and guide stakeholders at all levels to drive adoption of data quality standards and best practices.
  • Represent the Chief Data Office in cross-functional forums, contributing to the development of data management strategies and frameworks.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Significant experience in financial services, with a background in operations, finance, program management, data analytics, or business analysis.
  • Proven track record leading projects or business-as-usual initiatives focused on data quality, data lineage, control documentation, and metadata management.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and connect detailed analysis to broader business objectives.
  • Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing large data sets using Excel (pivots, formulas, charts) and other data tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239 and industry best practices in data management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders across business and technology.

  • Deep understanding of business practices and products within the Commercial & Investment Bank, with a focus on Markets.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Expertise in data governance, data quality, data lineage, and metadata management concepts.
  • Experience in a Chief Data Office or Data Quality organization within an investment bank or large financial institution.
  • Proficiency in querying databases or data stores for advanced data analysis.
  • Skilled in producing executive-level PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences.
