Lead APAC Sales BCM to strengthen controls, manage non-financial risk, and drive governance and regulatory readiness across Markets.
As the APAC Sales BCM Lead, you will be accountable for the risk and control strategy and execution for the APAC Sales business, based in Hong Kong. You will lead a regional team and partner closely with Sales leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify and assess non-financial risks, design and enhance controls, and drive a consistent governance framework. This role requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to challenge and influence business practices in a dynamic Markets environment.
Job responsibilities
- Lead the APAC Sales BCM team (approx. 10), located across multiple APAC locations
- Own and execute the APAC Sales non-financial risk, governance, and control agenda (BAU and strategic)
- Drive a robust control environment by identifying control gaps and delivering sustainable remediation
- Review and implement key firmwide policy requirements on behalf of the business
- Design and execute ad hoc analysis, control deep dives, resiliency initiatives, and projects
- Lead timely incident review with stakeholders, ensuring root-cause analysis, investigations, and effective corrective actions
- Partner with Front Office, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, Regulatory, and Technology to drive consistent control standards
- Influence business practices, decisions, policies, and internal control standards through ongoing assessment and senior-level engagement
- Maintain active dialogue with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense on exam planning, preparation, testing, and post-exam issue management
- Advise the business on non-financial risk matters, controls, audits, and testing, including support for regulatory exams
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- People management experience, including leading teams across multiple locations
- Experience in operations, operational risk, business controls, sales/trading, audit, technology, business management, or compliance within a global markets/banking environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to guide, challenge, and influence senior business leaders
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong ownership mindset and ability to drive outcomes
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple workstreams under tight deadlines
- Investigative mindset with ability to assess issues at both macro and detailed levels and articulate implications clearly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including process re-engineering and control design/enhancement
- Strong critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize large data sets and form clear, defensible conclusions
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Understanding of Markets products across asset classes and the end-to-end product lifecycle
- Knowledge of the APAC regulatory landscape
