As an Operational Risk Management Lead Vice President within the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR), you will report to an Executive Director and focus on the Kinexys by J.P. Morgan business unit, which sits in the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) Payments business. Kinexys is a pioneer in banking-led blockchain, transforming traditional business models and the movement of money, information, assets and in this role you will provide second line oversight, assess compliance and operational risk for new Kinexys products, technologies, and vendor relationships, and support process improvements across the business.
You will be part of a diverse team of CCOR professionals, fostering cross-functional collaboration and supporting all areas of the business globally. Your contributions will help ensure innovative, risk-based solutions and robust controls for business partners.

Job Responsibilities
- Support compliance and operational risk management activities across Kinexys and CIB Payments, aligning with firmwide objectives and regulatory expectations.
- Collaborate with business and functional stakeholders in the review and implementation of new products, services, vendor relationships, and client onboarding, ensuring robust risk and control frameworks.
- Participate in working groups to develop and enhance blockchain / digital ledger technology risk management frameworks.
- Represent Payments CCOR in control forums, business meetings, and industry events, communicating clear and compelling risk and compliance messages.
- Monitor regulatory and legislative changes, providing oversight and guidance for business implementation of new rules and regulatory requirements.
- Support second line controls to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and firm policies, contributing to continuous improvement and process efficiency.
- Review and assess new business initiatives for regulatory and operational risk implications, supporting innovative and compliant business outcomes.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Compliance, Operational Risk, Legal, Product, Payments, Audit, Finance, and Control Management teams, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Participate in team development and feedback, contributing to an inclusive environment for growth and excellence.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Significant experience in compliance, operational risk, audit, or internal controls within a complex, global environment.
- Understanding of blockchain business use cases and distributed ledger technology, digital assets, and associated risks, with experience managing emerging risks and regulatory challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and deliver risk-based solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, establishing credibility with business partners and external stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously.
- Proven execution and project management skills, ensuring timely resolution and delivery of high-quality results.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to operate effectively across teams and geographies.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and committed to achieving higher standards and continuous improvement.
- Ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment, supporting professional development and knowledge sharing.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in blockchain, digital assets, and payments.
- Experience with payments or financial services preferred.
- Experience in supporting change, driving innovation, and managing disruption in financial services.
