As an Associate on the Global Private Bank (GPB) Balance and Flows team, you will be responsible for the reporting of the flows and balances for GPB. To do this, you will be working with various MIS reporting tools, and partnering closely with product finance and MIS teams. Our monthly reporting includes preparing a BD1 outlook at the start of the month and finalizing actuals on BD9, where you will be finalizing our flow and balance numbers; you will be responsible for the accurate reporting in our Weekly and Monthly Dashboards. Further more, additional time will be split on projects impacting our MIS system/platform, organization hierarchy changes, and you will ensure oversight and integrity across MIS reporting for flows and balances (daily/weekly/monthly).

Job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product CFO’s, Product Control, Regional finance teams, and the MIS team to oversee the month-end close of the reporting systems for assets, and flows.
  • Understand any disconnects in actuals versus the BD1 estimate for Flows and Balances.
  • Coordinate changes to the GPB organization and custom hierarchies by conducting monthly reviews with technology, ensuring the request comply with the appropriate MIS requirements, submitting the request for approval, and communicating the changes with various stakeholders.
  • Assist the MIS Controller with MIS and reporting changes by gathering business requirements and coordinating with various arms of Finance and MIS to design, test, and implement.
  • Act as a point of reference for numerous groups concerning flows and balance reporting matters. This includes addressing issues/questions around reporting capabilities, new projects and MIS procedures.
  • Understand the various flow and balance reporting views for GPB. Document any changes in our reporting and ensure we have the appropriate controls to prevent any data quality issues.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years financial analysis experience in the financial services industry
  • Bachelors degree in Finance or related discipline
  • Project management experience
  • Desire to learn the technical aspects of flows and balance reporting
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, as well as creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to identify, trouble shoot and investigate reporting anomalies
  • Exhibits the ability to consistently execute responsibilities independently
  • Identify priority items and manage multiple deliverables effectively.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - the minimum proven skill set should include vlookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and if-statements.
  • Strong Microsoft Access skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with VBA/macros and Essbase is a plus.
