As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platforms - Network Services, you apply deep knowledge of Network software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.

Job responsibilities

  • Identify and mitigate network risks across firewalls, proxies, routers, switches, load balancers, and other devices.
  • Monitor risk issues end‑to‑end: keep tickets updated, tracked, and resolved promptly; maintain action plans and documentation; drive remediation to closure.
  • Assist audit requests by gathering and organizing evidence; ensure alignment with risk frameworks and firmwide standards.
  • Configure and support core networking technologies: TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF/BGP routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, forward and reverse proxy.
  • Remediate vulnerabilities and manage patch and firmware cycles under formal SLAs.
  • Execute network change management through ITSM and CMDB processes.
  • Automate remediation, policy checks, and evidence collection using scripts and APIs.
  • Build and maintain dashboards; define KRIs/KPIs to track exposure, SLA adherence, and operational health.
  • Ensure complete telemetry coverage (syslog, NetFlow/sFlow, cloud flow logs) into SIEM; identify and close coverage gaps.
  • Support incident response, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions; collaborate with Cyber, Technology, and Operations.
  • Maintain runbooks, standards, and diagrams; produce audit‑ready evidence and align remediation with business priorities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal Training or Certification on Infrastructure disciplines concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Manage and support risk‑based tickets and workflows, ensuring timely updates, accurate tracking, and closure under SLAs.

  • Apply foundational networking knowledge to identify risks across firewalls, switches, load balancers, proxies, and other network devices.
  • Build KRIs and dashboards; deliver executive reporting in Excel and PowerPoint; analyze and visualize data using SQL and Tableau/Power BI.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, consistent follow‑through, and disciplined execution to drive issues to closure.
  • Operate effectively in fast‑paced, highly regulated environments while adhering to firmwide standards and controls.
  • Pursue continuous learning in risk management, networking, and emerging technologies to improve outcomes and efficiency.
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering or equivalent (preferred).

  • Execute enterprise and operational risk frameworks; coordinate audits and regulatory responses; track findings to sustainable closure using Archer or equivalent
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Earn or maintain professional certifications such as CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CIA, FRM, or PMP
  • Certifications: Obtain/maintain entry‑level industry credentials (e.g., ISACA IT Risk Fundamentals) (preferred).
  • Script in Python or similar languages to automate controls, monitoring, and analysis
  • Automate network and risk workflows using Python or Ansible; leverage YAML/JSON, REST APIs, and Git for policy checks and evidence collection (preferred).
  • Operate across multiple public and private cloud environments and support migrations
  • Apply and expand infrastructure engineering expertise across hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance
