The Senior Technology Officer (STO) will lead a small local technology team (3 FTE) in Argentina and act as a senior technology partner to the Markets and Payments organization. The role is accountable for translating business strategy into a prioritized technology roadmap, ensuring reliable and secure delivery, and influencing regional/global stakeholders so the Argentina strategy is executed successfully. The STO will drive execution across local and distributed teams, maintain strong operational controls, and continuously improve stability, resilience, and time-to-market.
Key Responsibilities
- Team leadership (3 FTE): Lead, coach, and develop a local technology team; set clear goals, manage performance, and build a strong engineering and controls culture.
- Strategy-to-execution: Convert Markets and Payments business priorities in Argentina into an executable technology roadmap with clear milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.
- Stakeholder influence: Partner with senior stakeholders across Markets and Payments to shape priorities, align trade-offs, and drive decisions across regional/global technology teams.
- Delivery governance: Own delivery planning and execution for Argentina-related initiatives; track progress, manage risks/issues, and provide concise status reporting and escalation.
- Production reliability: Ensure stability and resilience of critical systems supporting Markets/Payments; lead incident management, problem management, and root-cause remediation.
- Risk, controls, and security-by-design: Ensure adherence to required controls across SDLC, change management, access, data handling, audit readiness, and remediation of findings.
- Modern engineering practices: Drive CI/CD maturity, automated testing, observability, and standardization; reduce manual processes and improve deployment quality.
- Vendor and third-party oversight: Manage local vendor delivery/service performance aligned to operational and control expectations.

Regulatory and local readiness: Support requirements driven by Argentina-specific regulatory, operational, and business needs, coordinating with compliance/control partners.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in technology roles, including ownership of end-to-end delivery and production operations for business-critical systems.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience (direct management) and ability to lead small teams with high impact.
- Strong experience influencing stakeholders and driving execution across matrixed organizations (regional/global teams and multiple functions).
- Proven track record operating in controlled / regulated environments with strong risk and governance expectations.

Excellent communication skills—able to present trade-offs and recommendations to senior business and technology leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Domain exposure to payments, cash management, markets technology, or transaction processing platforms.
- Experience with modern delivery stacks (CI/CD, automated testing), observability, resiliency engineering and AI.
- Experience supporting local country requirements (e.g., regulatory reporting, data residency, operational constraints) in partnership with control functions.
- English/Spanish fluency (Portuguese a plus), comfortable operating in global forums.
