As a Lead Technical Program Manager at JPMorgan Chase within the Chief technology office team, you own the delivery of complex, multi-domain technology initiatives. You establish program strategy, operating cadence, and governance to ensure outcomes are delivered on time, within scope, and with effective risk management. You partner closely with CTO leadership, Engineering, Architecture, Product, Cybersecurity, Data, and enterprise control functions to drive execution, standardize practices, and elevate organizational delivery maturity. You foster a collaborative environment and champion continuous improvement.
Job responsibilities
- Own multi-quarter modernization programs spanning multiple workstreams, including platform build, migration, adoption, and decommission
- Define program scope, success criteria, milestones, boundaries, measurable outcomes, and adoption goals
- Create and maintain integrated program plans covering charters, milestones, deliverables, acceptance criteria, dependency mapping, critical path, sequencing, and interlock points
- Remove blockers by driving decisions, negotiating tradeoffs, and escalating with clear options, impacts, and recommendations
- Establish program operating cadence with executive-ready artifacts such as status, RAID, decision log, milestone tracking, and health indicators
- Coordinate delivery across toolchain teams and engineering consumers to ensure platform capabilities align to workflows, scale across teams, and enable sustainable operations
- Oversee backlog shaping with engineering leads, including epics, milestones, dependency sequencing, and adoption blockers
- Partner with Engineering and Architecture to ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including resilience, performance, scalability, observability, and maintainability
- Coordinate delivery with Cybersecurity, Privacy, Risk, Compliance, and Audit stakeholders to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and evidenced
- Maintain transparent program reporting for senior leadership, including milestone health, budget and resource status, risk posture, and trade-off recommendations
- Identify systemic delivery bottlenecks and implement improvements to ways of working, including standard templates, tooling, metrics, and repeatable playbooks
- Manage vendor and third-party delivery, including contracts support, delivery governance, performance management, and integration into internal controls and release processes
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on program management concepts and 7+ years applied experience
- Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-domain technology programs
- Strong skills in program planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation
- Demonstrated ability to drive decisions, negotiate tradeoffs, and escalate issues effectively
- Experience coordinating delivery across engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and control functions
- Proficiency in creating executive-ready artifacts and transparent reporting
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Experience managing vendor and third-party delivery
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and expectation-setting skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience with platform modernization, migration, and adoption programs
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Lean methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of technology delivery governance and compliance
- Experience working in financial services or highly regulated environments
