As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Designs, analyzes, develops, codes, tests, debugs and documents programming to satisfy business requirements
  • Is able to influence teams with design strategies, right tool adoption and practices for Java development and Agile adoption.
  • Drive the overall OPT Development strategy to accelerate preparation and execution of SDLC activities
  • Work proactively with CCB OPT developers, managers and business partners to develop, coordinate, communicate and enforce testing schedules, and deliverables
  • Utilize excellent organizational skills, proven analytical, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work proficiently and effectively in an Agile / Scrum feature team environment
  • Provide support to the application in terms of analyzing issues, finding root cause of prod issues and providing resolution to the issues
  • Research new technologies, identify and learn best practice, adapt quickly and provide technical guidance to other team members
  • Adapt Devops model of continuous and automated integration, test and delivery
  • Work with multiple globally distributed teams to deliver end-to-end solution across regions

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience in mature design, coding, testing, and debugging skills.

  • Excellent Leadership skills and experience working in Application Development, Quality and Automation teams. Ability to influence teams

  • Experience in delivering end-to-end technology solutions using Java/J2EE

  • Development Experience with Java/J2EE in designing and developing distributed systems

  • Experience using UI technologies such as AngularJS, ReactJS

  • Experience designing and developing applications for the Cloud; with Cloud Foundry

  • Experience in design and developing microservices based on Domain Driven Design

  • Experience in the following areas: Object Oriented analysis and design, TDD/BDD, Design patterns, Database and Javascript frameworks , Web Services (Soap/Rest Based) Development, SOA/Microservices

  • Experience with the following development and build tools (or similar): IntelliJ/Eclipse, Jenkins, Maven, BitBucket/Git/Gitflow, JMeter/Pasta/Blazemeter, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud

  • Experience in Unix/AIX and WebSphere 7x/8x, DB2/Oracle

  • Good knowledge of issue tracking systems, e.g: Jira. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrates initiative and is a self-starter. Is able to work individually with business partners, senior architects and managers to design application roadmaps. High level of responsibility and Ownership from inception through to implementation

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Working knowledge in Public Cloud Environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS) - Cloud Computing Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Distributed Tracing tools, frameworks, and concepts
  • Familiarity with Agile concepts and tools
  • Experience with distributed teams located in the US or other Indian cities
  • Experience in Apache Kafka, Cassandra or NoSQL, Domain Driven Design
