As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for applications and infrastructure (build, test, security scanning, release, rollback).
  • Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform / CloudFormation / CDK).
  • Develop automation for provisioning, configuration, patching, backups, and operational runbooks.
  • Implement container platforms and deployment workflows (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, Helm as applicable).
  • Establish observability (metrics, logs, traces), alerting, and SLOs; drive incident response and postmortems.
  • Apply security-by-default: IAM least privilege, secrets management, key management, vulnerability remediation, policy-as-code.
  • Improve reliability and cost posture through autoscaling, right-sizing, performance tuning, and FinOps tagging/chargeback support.
  • Standardize environment management across dev/test/prod and automate governance controls.
  • Support release management, change control, and on-call rotation as required; reduce toil through continuous improvement.
  • Produce clear technical documentation for pipelines, environments, and operational procedures.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering / Cloud Automation (adjust for your level).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (common services: IAM, VPC, EC2, ALB/NLB, S3, RDS/Aurora, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS, Lambda, Route 53).
  • Strong IaC skills with Terraform or CloudFormation/CDK; ability to structure reusable modules/stacks.
  • Experience building CI/CD with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language: Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of Linux, networking basics (DNS, TLS, routing), and SDLC best practices.
  • Experience with secrets and configuration management (e.g., AWS Secrets Manager/SSM, Vault).
