Job Summary
As a Securities Settlements Manager – Vice President within the Global Securities Operations team, you will be responsible for leading end‑to‑end securities settlement activities, ensuring strong risk and control governance, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience. You will oversee Fixed Income settlement processes, manage complex exceptions, develop teams, and drive automation and continuous improvement across settlement functions.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide end‑to‑end oversight of Fixed Income securities settlement, including cash, position, and suspense reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely settlement processing in line with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and market standards, including CSDR.
- Maintain a strong risk and control environment, including execution and documentation of key controls and timely escalation of issues.
- Lead exception management, root‑cause analysis, and resolution of settlement breaks and fails.
- Manage daily settlement activity across Euroclear, domestic, and cross‑border markets for cash and repo transactions.
- Partner with Front Office, Middle Office, Custodians, Brokers, Treasury, and Trading to resolve discrepancies and minimize operational risk.
- Oversee daily funding coordination and support liquidity management activities.
- Drive automation, process improvement, and reporting enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Standard Operating Procedures to support training, incident response, and business continuity.
- Lead and support change initiatives, system enhancements, and project delivery in partnership with Change Management.
- Build, develop, and motivate high‑performing teams through effective leadership, coaching, and succession planning.
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities
- Extensive experience in securities operations and settlements within a broker‑dealer or investment banking environment.
- Strong understanding of Fixed Income products, including Repo and Securities Lending.
- Proven expertise in settlement lifecycle controls, including pre‑matching, matching, settlement, exceptions, and fails management.
- Deep knowledge of market infrastructures and utilities such as Euroclear, DTC, and domestic settlement markets.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience managing large teams in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities with a proactive risk mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and handle client or business escalations effectively.
- High risk awareness with the ability to identify, assess, and escalate financial, regulatory, reputational, and operational risks.
- Proven track record of driving process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across functions and seniority levels.
- Ability to adapt to change and maintain control standards within evolving operating models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating within regulatory frameworks such as CSDR.
- Audit awareness with experience supporting audits, preferably including SOC 1 Long Form reporting and auditor engagement.
