J.P. Morgan Wealth Management is looking for a media relations professional with expertise in developing public relations strategy, bringing campaigns to life and engaging with the press. This role requires exceptional judgment, strong executive presence and fluency with top-tier consumer, business, financial, and wealth management trade media.

As a Media Relations Vice President on the Communications team, you will partner with senior executives and internal partners to execute our public relations strategy, tell our business’s growth story and protect the reputation of the firm. You will report to the Head of External Communications for J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive external communications strategy for J.P. Morgan Wealth Management to support business priorities and long-term growth objectives.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, providing strategic counsel on messaging, media engagement and reputational considerations.

  • Own media strategy and proactively identify opportunities to elevate brand awareness.

  • Cultivate strong relationships across national, financial, wealth management and consumer press.

  • Develop, present and execute strategic and tactical PR campaigns for key initiatives/launches that drive business outcomes.

  • Partner closely with executives to support media interviews, speaking engagements and written opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal and external marketing support teams (e.g., marketing, events, social, brand/advertising, video, content), functional groups (e.g., legal, controls), business leaders, and external partners to execute campaigns and tell a holistic story across channels.

  • Anticipate and manage reputational risk in coordination with legal, compliance and corporate communications.

  • Translate complex wealth management and financial topics into clear, credible and compelling messaging for a consumer audience.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 7+ years of experience in an external communications/Public Relations role.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Proven experience in proactive & reactive media relations and executing PR campaigns that resulted in positive press coverage and supported business results.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with disciplined attention to detail.

  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills and the ability to consult directly with executives and leaders.

  • Outstanding judgment and interpersonal skills, including partnering effectively with executives, peers and other functional groups across the company.

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and manage reputational risk within a regulated industry.

  • An interest in wealth management and financial planning.

  • Established media relationships with business, wealth management, consumer and/or lifestyle media.
