You will help negotiate and manage commercial terms to improve UR gift card program economics and increase merchant-funded value. You will contribute to a forward-looking partnership roadmap aligned to UR strategy and customer segmentation, and drive cross-functional execution in a highly matrixed environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner and vendor management: Manage day-to-day relationships with gift card partners across UR passion areas and collaborate closely with the vendor partner to ensure strong performance, alignment, and growth over time.
  • Commercial negotiation & economics: Support negotiations and ongoing commercial management to optimize UR program economics and increase merchant-funded value, including tracking performance versus targets.
  • Market & competitive intelligence: Conduct competitor and market gap analyses to inform partner strategy, prioritization, and portfolio decisions; synthesize findings into clear recommendations.
  • Strategy & roadmap development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a multi-year gift card partnership roadmap aligned with UR program strategy, customer segmentation, and evolving customer needs.
  • Cross-functional test-and-learn delivery: Partner with Ultimate Rewards Program Management, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Card GM teams to execute and measure test-and-learn initiatives that improve program performance and customer value.
  • Customer experience optimization: Coordinate with Product and Marketing to enhance the end-to-end customer experience, including partner offers, merchandising, and customer communications; identify friction points and drive resolutions.
  • Operational excellence: Manage partner reporting, business reviews, contractual deliverables, and issue resolution to ensure high-quality execution and risk-managed outcomes.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Partnership management: Strong relationship management and negotiation skills, with the ability to coordinate internal stakeholders and align teams behind partner plans.
  • Customer-oriented mindset: Customer-first mentality with the ability to translate portfolio strategy into clear priorities and executable plans.
  • Strategic thinking with operational rigor: Ability to connect big-picture strategy to details such as program mechanics, partner performance, and contract obligations.
  • Financial and contract acumen: Working knowledge of pricing and commercial levers; strong contract literacy and comfort managing economics through data-driven performance management.
  • Critical thinker: Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative; able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous, matrixed environment.
  • Strong execution: Detail-oriented, outcomes-driven, and comfortable rolling up sleeves to drive work to completion with limited direct authority.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Industry experience: 5-7 years of experience in credit cards, loyalty programs, payments, and/or financial services, with demonstrated ownership of partner/merchant initiatives and measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Leadership experience: Experience leading workstreams and influencing cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment (people management experience is a plus but not required).
  • Strong communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication, executive-ready presentations, and strong stakeholder management skills; experience in rewards programs is a plus.
