As a Sr Data Analyst within the Strategy, Innovation & Governance Data team in the Payments Operations (PO) organization, you will join a team that provides data insights, visualizations and metrics dashboards across PO.
Job responsibilities
- Perform data mining, analytics, and problem solving.
- Analyze business requirements and design, build, and test solutions to deliver high-quality data insights and visualizations.
- Partner with Product Owners and Operations to define requirements and implement new capabilities.
- Understand relevant data sources and ensure adherence to team data standards.
- Engage proactively to mitigate risk through continuous process improvement, root cause analysis, and collaboration with Operations teams.
- Collaborate as part of an agile team to deliver iteratively and transparently.
- Pursue continuous learning as new tools and technologies become available.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in a quantitative field (or equivalent education/experience).
- 7+ years in business analysis or business application design/development.
- 5+ years using SQL and Python/Alteryx (or another programming language) in a work setting.
- Good understanding of banking operations; payment processing knowledge.
- Advanced Microsoft Office; working knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Business Objects); database design/relational principles (large-scale data warehouse).
- Agile and/or SDLC experience; proactive, self-motivated, flexible; able to multitask and deliver under pressure.
- Polished written/verbal communication, able to define requirements, bridge business/technology, summarize and visually present findings; strong teamwork/relationships; excellent analytical problem-solving with sound recommendations.
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Proficient in querying enterprise databases using SQL to obtain analysis-ready data.
- Experience writing code in Alteryx and SQL, including statistical descriptive analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Tableau. Proven strong analytical skills.
- Proven strong communication skills. Demonstrated aptitude and curiosity to build automated solutions for business problems.
- Track record of translating data into actionable insights.
