As a Sr Data Analyst within the Strategy, Innovation & Governance Data team in the Payments Operations (PO) organization, you will work within a team that provides data insights, visualizations and metrics dashboards across PO.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform data mining, analytics, and problem solving.
  • Analyze business requirements and design/build/test solutions delivering high-quality insights and visualizations.
  • Partner with Product Owners and Operations to define requirements and implement new capabilities.
  • Develop strong understanding of data sources and ensure team standards are followed.
  • Proactively mitigate risk via continuous process improvement, root cause analysis, and collaboration with Operations.
  • Operate effectively as part of an agile team.
  • Maintain continuous learning as new tools and technologies become available.

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in a quantitative field (or equivalent education/experience).
  • 7+ years in business analysis or business application design/development.
  • 5+ years using SQL plus Python/Alteryx (or another language) professionally.
  • Understanding of banking operations; payment processing knowledge.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong database design/relational principles; large-scale data warehouse; working knowledge of Tableau and Business Objects.
  • Agile/SDLC experience; polished communication bridging business and tech; ability to summarize/visualize findings; proactive, flexible, independent under pressure; strong teamwork/relationships; excellent analytical problem-solving with sound recommendations.

Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities

  • Proficient in querying enterprise databases using SQL to extract analysis-ready data.
  • Experience coding in Alteryx and SQL, including descriptive statistical analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Tableau.
  • Proven strong analytical skills.
  • Proven strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and curiosity to build automated solutions to solve business problems.
