As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Markets Tech Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Write, test, and maintain Terraform modules and environments to provision AWS infrastructure.
  • Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform workflows (plan/apply), including remote state management, environment promotion, and change controls.
  • Manage deployment of code to PROD environment.
  • Automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
  • Demonstrate site reliability principles and practices every day and champions the adoption of site reliability throughout the team
  • Collaborate with others to create and implement observability and reliability designs for complex systems that are robust, stable, and do not incur additional toil or technical debt
  • Work toward becoming an expert on the applications and platforms in your remit while understanding their interdependencies and limitations
  • Evolve and debug critical components of applications and platforms
  • Provide comprehensive and ongoing guidance, tools, and solutions to support the firms’ growth

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Strong hands-on Terraform experience: authoring reusable modules, variables/outputs, workspaces/environments, state/backends, and safe rollout practices.
  • Proficient with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong AWS infrastructure deployment experience in production environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Practical cloud native experience


Design and deliver market-leading technology products in a secure and scalable way as a seasoned member of an agile team
