Join us as a Japan Economist and be part of the global research team. This role offers the opportunity to shape market views and collaborate with global economists and strategists.

As a J.P. Morgan economist in the Global Research team, you will not only work closely with Japan research colleagues, but will form a part of our global research team. You will support in providing comprehensive research to institutional investors, sales and traders in JP Morgan on Japanese economy, policy, and financial markets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform active research on Japanese economy, using economic analysis and quantitative methods

  • Contribute to team views through active discussion and presentation

  • Liaise with research colleagues in other areas to better solicit views, with strong and demonstrable interest in other regions and markets

  • Write research reports in our regular and ad hoc publications to update clients on new views

  • Confidently presenting research views to clients in one-on-one meetings and seminars

  • Coordinate and communicate with colleagues and interact with clients with high degree of communication skills

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Excellent analytical skills with strong understanding of economic theory and practice developed through formal education and work experience in economic research

  • Solid background in econometrics and statistics

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with proficiency in English and Japanese

  • The ability to build and maintain successful relationships with colleagues across the firm and clients
